But a triple is the obvious solution if you love the all around performance of a 39 chainring, but fear you will run out of gear on a standard double. I know for a fact that I will not run out of gears using a standard double in my home area, because like you, I have a triple bike I NEVER use the smallest chainring on when riding near home. The OP has discovered the joy of the 39, but fears giving up the 34. A triple solves that concern as does owning more than one bike.
