It might seem obvious, but sunrise gets later and later until sometime in early Feb. It seems crazy but true. Check the US Naval Observatory for sunrise/sunset tables for your location.
I just checked for my area and latest sunrise is in Jan. Never would have guessed it wasn't same as solstice.
