WNC wasjust a suggestion for an alternate backpacking trip (which I want to do sometime)if you wanted to get off road which I was sensing however I would prefer an onroad Fl trip to somewhere we could hike/canoe camp a day or two and from my understanding Ocala Natl. Forest or J.Dickenson S.P. are two good locations for this.From reading online journals and online newsgroup commentary 27 is the prefer route through central Florida(check cycle websites with journals or search goggle for bicycle ,touring,florida,27 etc.).The S.Lake O. area around Belle Glade is reportedly not a nice neighborhood to stop and camp but sticking to main road should be no problem and if we had to we could take the 710 to 70 to 27 route we followed before .441 north from 70 at Ochachobee looked alright but we would have to cut across to27 on 60 to avoid the Disney Land mess which is reportedly not cycle friendly.Also going up A1A to J.D.S.P. and north cutting inland at 70(Ft pierce)60(Vero Bch) or even 44(New Smyrna)might be an option.Perhaps round trip going up 27 cutting across 44 to the southern edge of ONF where reportedly the best trails are for hiking/camping then back down A1A stopping at J.D.S.P. inJupiter for a day of canoeing/camping
