The bearings are normally marked on the side with numbers like 36 x 36 or 36 x 45. No markings at all on the bearings?

You're kind of confused about the brands and the angles. TH and Cane creek make multiple sizes and angles. TH is the actual bearing manufacturer. They make Campy 41.8mm, 45 x 45, IS or Cane Creek standard 41mm, 36 x 45 and the 41.5mm 36 x 36 bearings for different headsets.

If you owned some calipers, you could meaure the bearing OD. It would be bad to put a 36 degree bearing in a 45 degree frame.
