It's not rain gear, other than the fact that it is 100% synthetic and won't make you cold when it gets wet. Rain would go right through it.

One interesting note, not on their Website. At first, the material seems to be double - like a liner and outer fabric. Somehow, they made the back side "peached" texture - slightly fuzzy but not exactly fleece. The white color of the inside of the fabric is what really makes the bright colors up front leap off the fabric. But you do get the sense that the fabric is two layers thick but no movement occurs between the imaginary two layers. The exterior has a tiny grid pattern woven into the fabric. Looks a bit like ripstop, but the opposite - the tiny squares are raised a bit from the grid lines. I don't think I can put into words how soft this fabric is both inside and out.
