No, I do not expect to go farther with a new frame or be better in anything except I was hoping for one thing. Stability (hopefully on the downhill sections)
One reason I bought a road bike was becuase there is alot of great places to ride where I live. However, they are mountians with 4800 ft elevation gain in 42 miles (for example: skyline drive in Virginia. I live 5 miles from it). With the elevation gain you have the downhills. Plus I am going to be going tri. I don't really care too much about the bling factor even though one person I ride with has one and I must admit it looks so cool and I am jelous but I think I would prefer to beat him with a Scattante that cost 1/3 of the price (even though I have better components).
Since I am new at biking (But I have been running for a while) I am doing more training videos (I have been using Cycling Fitness Results) and I have been going to a bike trail in the area (very flat) to go for distance (so far I am only up to 40 miles but I have only been on the trail 3 times) and I have been doing short hills in the area (without changing the cassette of 11-23). I do have a 11-28 cassette that I will be putting on but I figured I will train with the 11-23 till I am ready for the long hills.
