HexagonSun: 32% of survey respondants said that sometimes the bumps cause them to avoid using the Williamsburg brigde cyclist/pedestrian path. For example, Bill usually rides to work over the Williamsburg bridge, but riding over the bumps has given him a terrible sprained wrist. While his wrist heals, he uses the less conveniently located Manhattan bridge because the bumps on the WBB aggravate his condition.
Neptunetitan: You're right about the brooklyn-side path. It's bad too. The WBB pedestrian/cyclist path was poorly planned. We're focusing on getting the bumps removed because they're more dangerous, with 23% of bridge path users crashing or tripping and falling because of them. Hopefully, when that's accomplished, we can move on to improving the rest of the path.
