Some bikes put the serial number on the bottom bracket shell. The boom is the front piece, where the bottom bracket shell is. My remark was that it would be a poor place to put a serial number, since the majority of the frame would not be included. If you've found a plate, then that may be it. My Baron has the serial number stamped on the inside of the starboard (drive side) dropout, which is why I mentioned it as a possibility.
