I read rumrunn6's post, in light of crazyed27 disclosure of having barrel adjusters on the shifter, as similar to what I posted later...i.e. barrel adjusters weren't essential on the derailer since he had adjusters elsewhere.

Your post could easily be misconstrued, as I did, to indicate that they are essential at the rear derailer. Especially since the question that crazyed27 asked was about a stripped rear derailer barrel adjuster. I'm sorry if I misread your post but it wasn't that clear.
