If you ask me, there are defiantly bikes that are too nice to convert like a high end aluminum or carbon bike. This is not one of them, its a great build, i like the wrench in the other water bottle mounts. The only think that i might add would be some covers to those shifter mounts, then it would be flawless.
I think it might be more of an issue of how the conversion is done, since conversions aren't necessarily permanent. Grinding off braze-ons of a nice frame = stupid.
