You should check out his warranty, if you kill the frame for whatever reason, he'll trade it in with a new one at half-price, at cost. How can you say someone like that is only trying to make a profit. I'd pick NYCBikes if anything, those guys are the ones you should make an example of.
okay...no more ranting...for now.
It looks like he got bashed. How much a retailer pays for an item is none of his business. Shame on the retailer for lying to him. I can see the episode. $300 bucks!!!!! Crap its just a black cromo frame n' fork. Your ripping me off. At this point I'd say, sorry you feel that way, go somewhere else and find it cheaper. Have a nice day. In 30 years of retail almost all of it in bikes in some way or another, I can only remember twice where a person had the auduacity to ask me what my profit was. None in the last 6 years that I have owned a LBS. I'm an IRO dealer and you can buy a frameset from me for the same price you can get it direct from IRO. I eat the shipping.

What the original poster knows about retail and business in general you could put in a fleas navel and still have room for a sesame seed and a red pubic hair.

Good job Wangster.

Yea, The IRO Mark "V"'s are black, but you can get custom color powdercoat from IRO. It might be possible to get a frame/fork in raw form and get it painted to your desires. Having a selection of colors would boost the price. Remember what Henry Ford said..."You can have any color as long as it's black"
