Hi! and welcome

I guess there are some things you just fall in love with, and some you don't.

Do you like physical activity in general?

Sometimes as you do something more it gets easier.

I believe that if you ride a bike for "exercise" it is likely doomed to failure. You need to find other reasons to ride a bike than "exercise." Exercise denotes a chore - something you wish you weren't doing, but feel you have to, and then you find any and all excuses not to do it.

At age 65 (motivation seems to vary with age), these are some reasons I have for bike riding (and walking and weightlifting):

I love the feel of a bike under my own power, meeting and attaining physical goals which I set for myself.

I love watching the scenery and nature from a bike.

I enjoy riding with my wife and the social aspect at times.

But, I really enjoy time alone to think things through.

I love seeing my muscles get stronger and the weights I can handle getting bigger and/or more frequent.

I love increasing my mileage while I am walking. I used to think 2 miles was a long walk. I now take 5 mile walks or more and have done 12 mile walks.

So, I just happen to love physical exercise of one type or another. Neither my wife nor I can stand to be in the house very long - we have to get outside, even in blizzards.

Those are some of the reasons I love my physcial activities.

You will have to find your own reasons.

Good luck!
