hey dude,

i haven't ridden it but i've heard rt. 9 is bad as well. if you're really concerned i'd recommend buying a boston bike map they sell in many boston bike shops, i forget who makes it as i don't have mine in front of me at the moment though. there are nice guides to what roads are safe.

this summer i rode from boston to rhinebeck, new york and used a boston bike map to find my way for 50 miles to meet up with the ACA atlantic coast route around sutton, ma. it's more south than what you're trying to do i believe, but check out the way i got out there: http://www.mapmyride.com/user_profil...24326588443053 (boston to rhinebeck day 1 map) it felt pretty safe.

also, i'm currently living in boston and planning on a long bicycle tour this summer. i was thinking colorado or possibly all the way to san fran. if you're looking for someone to train with or even do some short trips with send me a message.
