I guess I agree with Sirious in that any given used bike is pretty equivalent to the bike you're looking at. Be patient, deals come eventually. I found my wife a very nice ~1989 Raleigh with 105 components with downtube shifters at goodwill for $15 when I lived in the midwest. I got myself a 8 year old Bianchi for about $150 off craigslist when I was in the midwest. I found a bike that was posted, called the guy and just said, hey I've got $150 to spend on a bike I'll come right now and take it(he had it listed for $250).

I don't know what your beef with Raleigh's craigslist is. I bet most of the bikes on there would sell for a full 50-66% more here in the Northwest. I hardly bother looking for good deals since moving here.
