I'm sorry, but I'll keep defending straps 'til the cows come home, even though I don't use them anymore, and will never use them again.
I used them for about 15 years, and only came off the first time I had them, only because I forgot.
Anyone who thinks straps are any more than 114.3% more dangerous than clipless, never learnt how to use them properly.
If used correctly, they are not significantly more dangerous than clipless.
