I just acquired a bike which I found on Ebay. I did NOT bid on it, instead I searched in my local area for available bikes in my size and contacted the owners to find the reason for selling. One guy simply wanted a trade with something I had. This allowed us both to test ride each other's bikes and it worked out very well. BUT.....
The item was listed on Ebay as a mint condition of a certain year & model. Indeed, it was that year frame in good condition but not "mint", however, it appears to have been either an upgraded frame trade-in from an older bike or the components from that year were stripped and replaced with an earlier drivetrain. So, although it's a good bike, it certainly wasn't the stock bike from that year as you might expect from the auction title - so watch out!
