really glad I've been maintaining the bike including cleaning and lubing and that I covered it before the long weekend away. was a little nervous riding in colder temps with snow on the ground but so far so good. thanks to snow plows there is some shoulder to ride on and the cagers are courteous. there are the occasional exceptions that buzz me and I can only hope they do it intentionally and know how close they are. it's the ones that aren't paying attention that worry me. I wore a ski mask and enlarged the eye and mouth holes. it felt good to have my nose and sinus area (top cheek near nose) covered. the snow pants worked fine and weren't too hot. my water bottle froze 3/4 the way on my 13 mile commute and as I tried to open and close the valve and free the ice I could hear the slush in the bottle. I never did get another drink! amazing what temps in the high 20s can do after 40 minutes, even on a moving bike.

I'm thinking of adding an additional strobe just for those that buz me - pointing right at them as they approach instead of just the one on the back of my rack
