The last bike I built (the only C&V example I have at present) is a bit of a Frankenstein. Bearing in mind I started with only a frame and fork, most parts are broadly in keeping with its period of construction, however it does sport some anatomic design alloy handlebars, cartridge bottom bracket, 7 speed cassette and dual pivot brakes. I did find some nice Suntour clamp on downtube shifters, and a new but classic style Nitto stem. In part, the choice of components was dictated by the fact that I had them around already and wanted to make the bike rideable without spending a lot on it.
Try as a might through the years, I cannot never get to like the looks of anatomic bars, ever since the first ones came out from Modolo during the 80's. They just ruin a bike's lines completely for me. Anyway, "traditional" bend bars never gave me hand problems, plus it's not one of those things that relates to safety on the bike, so I can feel OK with looking for a "traditional" bend bar for my build up.
