As a note to the folks that might want to try this, I wrapped on top of the old handlbar wrap that was on the bars. It makes them extra plush and comfortable.

You couldn't do that with other handlebar wrap without buying two sets of rolls and slicing them because the length of the tape isn't long enough to wrap over the old layer.

If you are making your own, however, you can make the tape about as long as you want and give yourself a real luxury wrap.
