Cool video, thanks for sharing.
I have a set of Minoura rollers that I got as a gift a few years ago. They were in the medium price range, not as much as Kreitler's, but not as inexpensive as some Performance ones. Not positive of the model, but something like $200-$250.
I think a trainer would make me want to kill myself more than rollers, though I don't really like riding inside at all. I have avoided it so far this year, thanks to the weather, but today is snowing, raining, and cold as heck. I'll likely commute, but don't think I'll ride. Ugh, I haven't been on them since last year and those first few times of getting used to the boredom is terrible. I don't know if I'll push on and do it, or simply take some time off - I'm moving 600 miles south at the end of the month
As for stopping on rollers...I don't hit my brakes, and don't think this would be all that wise. I pedal more slowly, then grab the wall and set a foot down. I use both a fixed gear and a geared bike on mine. They definitely take some time to get used to, but if you ride a lot and have decent balance, you'll get the hang of it quickly. I've only fallen once in around three years, and that was because I was watching ice hockey and my team scored a game-winning goal!
