I liked what Rooney had to say about the fragile egos of some drivers. It does fit with my usual nemesis on the road which is the SUV driven by a mid 20's-30's bottle-blonde female (usually packing several chidren away from their dance/gymnastics/etc lessons). I've had to avoid that kind of driver as they stick the front bumper of the vehicle halfway across the bike lane. The driver often looks at me like I'm some sort of space alien, but never bothers to back up and clear the right of way. Sorry to sound so sexist; though, after going around the umpteenth Suburban/Expedition, the trend is pretty clear.

The most courteous drivers are the professional truckers. Despite the fact that they have a huge rig to maneuver through the downtown area of Salem, OR, I've always been impressed with how the always keep clear of the bike lanes. Then again, they're under pressure from their insurance carriers to have no accidents. If one of them were to crush me, so ends both our careers.
