Speaking of prices going up: it appears that the BF Tikit Model T is now $100 more (that is, it's shy of $1100).
As to cost: BF's "Travel tikit" has a dual drive, a choice of bars (let's say you picked bullhorn), and twist shifters, for about $1675. It's almost exactly the same weight as the Speed Pro TT. Not sure if you could add some of the TT's other goodies (like its low-spoke-count wheels and Stelvio wheels) but I wouldn't. I think the TT's problem is it's too harsh -- it'd benefit from fatter but still-very-fast wheels. Put some Scorchers on the Travel Tikit ($35-40 apiece) and you've got a fast *and* comfortable wheel situation. You could replace the shifter for maybe about $50. So I'm guessing a Tikit with most of the TT's gizmos will run around $1800. Not quite twice the price (the TT's about $1050) but sure, it's in that vicinity.
Speaking of the Scorchers: looks like they're
made for Dahon's size.
I like the Speed Pro TT: it's a great bike for the price. Too bad it's going aluminum though.
