The best way of training to ride that ride, is to ride with the ride. No ****. It's a tempo ride up to keele then it goes to warp 9. The peloton will usually break into a billion fragments at that point. If you're even reasonably fit (I kept up with the lead group on a 48x17 fixed), you should be fine.
