Bikes: Trek 8900, giant AC 05.

i own a giant AC '05 with Hayes Sole hydraulics (6" rotor). its fine to adjust the front with the: "loosen caliper bolts - spin wheel - then tighten" technique, but the caliper bolts on the rear screw in towards (perpendicular to) the rotor rather than parrallel to the rotor as on the front. this doesn't allow movement of the caliper towards/away from the rotor, only along the direction of the rotor. i really hope im making sense here because this is really hard to explain. how else can i adjust the position of the rear caliper?
