Well, a cog is just a threaded nut. The lockring is part of the hub for a reason.
I am actually running a rear track hub right now with stripped lockring threads.
Its flipped over onto the freewheel side. Applied Loctite Red before installing the cog and BB lockring.
I run no brakes and don't ride slow..
