Hey slick, Trek isn't the company with a no racing clause in the warranty. That's Fuji. I mentioned that it was raced because the bike was obviously ridden hard by two guys. Trek has a lifetime warranty (frame) for the original owner. I don't think it's realistic to expect a company to warranty repairs for life of every bike they ever manufactured for all owners. There is a good reason every bike company that I'm aware of states "warranty is valid for original owner only". As far as I know, every bike company limits warranty repairs to the original owner.

Lastly, I don't want to slam Waterrockets because I think he's a good guy, but if the bike was defective, why didn't it break for the original owner? Trek isn't the bad guy in this situation, the original owner is. He should have done the right thing and taken care of the repair request. The original owner deserves a severe beating (figuratively of course).
