We were hauling ass down Guadalupe going faster than the timing of the streetlights, and of course he had brakes and I'm bombing down those hills skipping my ass off to scrub enough speed to not blast into traffic. That was a good time. Friendly people round them parts. It's like, you're there and you can't help but think it's a sweet city and everything, but everywhere you go there is someone/something to remind you that it's still TX.
ya, there is def. some serious hicks around here. I get yelled at all the time for riding my bike. You learn to ignore it. I kinda like the mix b/w liberal intellectuals and rednecks though. Keeps things interesting. I live in a bubble of the most hippyish neighborhood in austin, though, so I don't have to experience the rednecks much until I get out of the city on a road bike ride. I love it here, but I'm also a native texan (and not from a place as friendly as Austin...)
