Oh, and re. the wheel question, a professional keirin rider will use high flange hubs (most often Dura-Ace, in my experience) with 36 spokes and silver tubular rims of box section. "Business Cycles" may be a good source for some of that. Tubulars, however, are kind of a PITA. I use and enjoy them, but I put up with a certain amount of headache for the priviledge. Among other things, you really want to spend some money on tubular tires, because the current selection includes $20 that really suck, $120 tires that are really nice, and nothing in the middle. The $20 tires are significantly worse than an average clincher, so are pointless IMO. The $120 tires a joy but you will cry a little bit inside with each puncture -- and repairing punctured tubulars is an aquired skill (and taste), as is properly gluing them onto the rims. I'll probably get my old codger's club membership revoked for saying it, but unless you're willing to put in a pot of effort and expense to master tubulars, you're probably a lot better off with clinchers.
