Thank you for all the suggestions. To Thecyclist, I clicked on your route and like the looks of it (based on what I think I know about that area). Is it tough to get through Oakdale without getting lost? Also, how bad is that section of Hwy 120? Looks like I can get at least 75 miles from your route based on my starting point. Maybe if I take loopybunny's suggestion and add the eastern section of River Road to Jack Tone and back on my return trip I can get closer. May also be able to add a bit in the Knights Ferry area.

Benridin, I thought about the ToC route. I seem to remember (from the TV coverage) that the run-in from I-5ish to Modesto was a bit questionable without the benefit of the closed roads that they had, but I'll check into it. I forgot about the Century, is it the Wine and Cheese one? If so I may be able to incorporate some of that into the route that thecyclist mentioned.
