Something I learned as a teenager: It doesn't matter how much the thing costs if the girl doesn't know offhand. I once sold a 1994 Camaro V6 for a 1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA, and two female friends of mine told me it was too bad I traded down. Bringing that lesson back to cycling, unless the girl is a roadie herself, she doesn't know what a Pinarello costs. Furthermore, most girls think an expensive bicycle is $800, but they know that you won't find a new Mercedes for less than $40k.
At the bike show, all bikes had the price (because the shop wants to sell them), so all the girls knew what everything costs.
