Yes, you need an FD-R443 or FD-R453 front derailleur to match up with the mountain-bike front shifter. I have used this setup on several bikes for many years. It works fine.

The RSX rear derailleur had a maximum capacity of 28 teeth. You could probably make it work with 30 teeth, but 32 might be beyond its reach. If you have a triple crank, just put a smaller front chainring on it.
