I raced on a Klein back in the mid 80's, and it was a fantastic bike - one of the very lightest around. The quality of the aluminum work was also very high. I have a Caad4 now, which is a great bike, but Klein put more work into perfecting the smoothness of the welds and making every little detail perfect.
Two drawbacks on that bike - the fork was a chrome integrated casting, seamless and beautiful but a little heavy. The rear geometry was a bit off, with the back wheel set a little farther back than most road bikes, giving it kind of a lazy response. I always figured that was to dampen the stiffness of the ride, but it just didn't handle like I wanted it to.
