Bikes: Trek 820 mtb, A no name red steel pipe bike, my commuter

Another slow ride in on icy and snow crusted roads at 20 F ( -6 C). The MTB felt good and handled well, busting its way through the snow. On the icy downhill I took my time, fishtailing only a couple times. I forgot to buckle the strap on my rear pannier and the gears sucked it up on a dark road. At first
I thought maybe the ice built up on the gears and threw the chain. I had to pull off one of my front lights and saw the strap wedged into the gears
tightly. I got it loose and will have to replace the buckle. There are too many things to remember on cold mornings. In the warm weather, everything just clicks.
