Here's the rub. The pic is poor so it's difficult to see the pedal platform. They appear to be grey, not black and they are definatly chome moly (black and rusting) spindles. They are clearly not this year's models as the X/5 has a blue pedal platform. They may have had different color combos in the past.

It appears the real key to the model (Zero. LA, or X) has to do with the dimples (or lack there of) on the pedal surface. If the pedals DO NOT have any dimples or other contour on the pedal surface (that is, they are flat) then they indeed are X/5s, so near as I can tell. If there are 4 small oval dimples on the pedal surface, the are probably LAs, and you best go to the Speedplay website and look closely at the Zeros.
