I know this is long but drudge through it and see if it rings a bell?

Its funny because I don't remember 7 - 10 day sales going on when I first started bidding on ebay in 97'. I can't stand to sit and watch a bike's price be ran up for 9 solid days...so I come in and look at it on the last 2-3 days and see if the bidders have ran up the price higher than it should be ran up...along with the sniping programs/services. If a bike is still under the most I will pay for it I wait till the last few seconds...then bid what I am willing to pay.

I did see a bike sale end...show the winning price ON THE SCREEN (I won)...and then a few minutes later after I celebrated winning and got a glass of tea...I went and refreshed the page and the winning price had changed! It was higher by $47.00. I was stunned because I knew I had just seen the screen a few minutes earlier with a different price than it had on it now. I bought 12 bikes and 2 frames this year...I am not a newbie...and I knew something was not right.

Now I am 48...a fairly smart and peaceable guy, but I knew I just got screwed out of some of my money. The bike price ended up being $1345 plus $100.00 shipping.

The way I see it that act was a crooked act...by ebay - to let the price change after the sale... but it made sense - they made more money on the sale....which I think is dishonest...and cost me money...why did it happen???

See below for the answer. I was flabbergasted!

I called ebay. I got to explain my case to 3 different customer service reps.
I was literally passed around by 3 "ebay brainwashed kids" under 25 with them telling me the following: 1) I was wrong, 2) No way that could happen - ebay is honest and would never do that...that is the FOUNDATION OF EBAY...HONESTY 3) Finally!!! -----> : A kid named Josh told me nobody could do anything about it...I asked for someone else higher...I wanted the head cheese!!! He told me it didn't matter...If I called back they are all going to tell me the same thing...(I asked for someone with gray hair to talk to - a grown up)

HE TOLD ME THIS: The reason why the price changed after the sale was over...BECAUSE OF SNIPPING PROGRAM BIDS -EVEN THOUGH I WON - THE BIDS STILL KEPT COMING IN. He said I should've never won BECAUSE TWO BIDDERS WERE USING A SNIPPING PROGRAM...but I placed my bid at the very last possible second and it got there ending the sale so I won...but the bids kept coming in.

I told Joshy boy that was a bunch of crap because if I won...THAT WAS THE FRIGGIN END OF THE SALE - SO THE PRICE THAT WAS SHOWING WAS MY PRICE. THE EXTRA $47 WAS ILLEGAL FOR EBAY TO PUT ON MY ENDING PRICE.

WHAT I LEARNED FOR $47.00:

I told JOSHY THE EBAY BOY from now on I am going to print out the winning price immediately after the sale (I suggest everyone do it)before they change it...and next time I WILL SUE THEM FOR CHANGING THE SCREEN AND SALE PRICE AND DISHONEST TRADE PRACTICES.

The snipping programs make them extra money...how many times a day does that happen in a day, month, week?? ANYONE EVER HAVE THAT HAPPEN TO THEM?
