Bikes: Trek Émonda, 1961 Follis (French) road bike (I'm the original owner), a fixie, a mountain bike, etc.

If you race, conformance is not bad thing. If you don't race, but want to appear that you do, then obviously go for road shoes and pedals. If you don't race and you don't care what others think, then it doesn't matter what you get - there's only one difference: you can walk around more easily with mt. bike shoes.
