The TT suffix indicated the tubular wheelset version (TT = tubular tires). Sprint rims was just another generic term for tubular rims. It has nothing to do with the brand or model. I was selling Raleigh during the boom and I don't recall the tubular tired models coming with Mavic rims, however there were lots of shortages during the boom, so it's always possible that the Mavics were an OEM substitution on some shipments. .
The Super Course TT was intended as a club racer, however they normally don't allow bicycles equipped with brakes and derailleurs on velodromes, so I doubt it was actually ridden on the Dorais velodrome, unless they were more lax than the velodromes I've ridden.
