Agree that LBS is your friend. I've worked in many small shops and can tell you that good shops recognize that although it might not have immediate returns, service is what sets them apart from dept. stores and online sellers.

Cyclists should recognize that these merchants are part of their community and (if the service is good) should support their local proprietors.
