Architecture here. What a coincidence. My high school band room was just a regular classroom with perforated acoustic panels plastered all over. Atleast yours had some thought in it. Don't know about the metal ceiling though. Regular suspended ceiling tiles would have been better and cheaper. What's up with that?
Yeah, every time I feel like whining, I think of the middle school band room at another school I rehearse at with a community band. Quite literally, it is a corner of their indoor cafeteria with two cubicle walls to seperate it from the rest of the room. On rainy days, when the students eat inside, the teacher returns from lunch to find out which part of lunch was the favored projectile of the day.
My old campus has acoustic ceiling panels, but asbestos tile floors.
