Hey, there's nothing wrong with getting sore. Pain can mean that your muscles are getting stronger. After a while you'll be able to tell the "good" sore from the "beaten with a stick" sore.
Be
sure to stretch, and try to exercise those sore muscles.
And this might be a great excuse to get a massage or two. One of the great pleasure in life.
I've played with all the adjustments and there's no way to get the front of my knee "in line" with the pedal spindle when your sitting on the bike. My knee is in front of it by a couple inches
Is your saddle high enough? You knee should be nearly straight at greatest leg extension. For your knee to be "a couple of inches" in front of the spindle with the saddle at the proper height you'd have to be sitting on the handle bars.
