I don't think it's a gag. If he has Raynaud's, there's nothing unusual about the symptoms he's reporting. The way that particular problem works is that your capillaries spasm and cut off blood supply to your extremities. The problem is aggravated by cold (sometimes it doesn't take much) and vibration.
If you google Raynaud's Phenomenon, you'll see that he could easily be experiencing the problems he is at 47F.
BTW, I'm not trying to play internet doc. I've had this problem myself for years and am only echoing my own experiences.
Yeah, after his reply, I saw the later posts about his condition. That'd be tough. 40s, 30s, whatever, isn't that bad, but if you body goes nuts at those temps, ouch, just sounds painful. Would chem warmers be the ticket? Or just some better super warm gloves? I heard the Assos gloves are crazy warm.
