BTW, in reference to cyclotoine's comments, I have ridden on the same TA crank for 30 years now. I am neither heavy nor powerful, but I did race cyclocross on it for a couple of seasons, and I have not been particularly kind to it. It has not failed me yet, and that is about as much as you can ask of a crank.
That reminded me that I asked someone on the Classic Rendezvous list what BB he was running with his TA pro vis 5 triple. Here's his response:

"I found that the TA standard of 120/123 for triples did me
no good. I'm guessing it was due to the proprietary taper. I had it on
a shimano UN series 127 and it gave me perfect clearance for a 68mm bb
shell with 130 rear spacing."
