I love the route.....Its an out and back - lots of people dont like that....or the desert terrain...I dig it...
Downside for me is its a 4hrs drive
1st time was windy for 40 miles...i got to the 3rd rest stop and was dead at that point...so i turned back....plus it was getting late due to the headwinds....
2nd time was cold....at rest stop2 I think it was around 9ish....was 48 degrees....when we started the sun was out and it was warm....but that changed to cloudy and cold...
Got to lunch, everyone was huddled around heaters...I ate pretty quick and back out since I knew it was still cold and getting too warm would make the cold even worse...
3rd time was the april one...had to bail a few days before due to a tooth ache...but heard it was windy again!
