Yeah, that's the year I tried to do it, 2007. 28 degrees at the start, only reached the mid 30's by the 25-mile mark. We didn't finish because of the cold, despite being very well layered up. I was so numb, I didn't react in time when another rider turned in front of me, so I crashed. Went home with frostbite and one or possibly two broken ribs. Swore I would never consider it again, but it feels like unfinished business. So we're going to do it this year. Forecast is for a much nicer day.
