Actually, while sad but true, what the judge said needs to be said. I applaud her for saying it, even if it's obvious.

The system often reaches the right result. It just takes some time, and our perception tends to be skewed because we don't always get the end of the story, or the conclusion gets much less attention than the original incident.
Let's just hope that the sentencing sets some kind of precedent.
