A couple years ago, I went paddling on the Chippewa river the first week of April. I dumped it and got pulled under a log. Luckily I popped up on the other side. The water was way cold and way fast from all the snow run off into the river. From then on, I chose to not go paddling until June. (an exception this year, I paddled in May, but I was in the Outer Banks
