If the water isn't warm enough to swim in then forget it.
Of course down here that's about 7 or 8 months out of the year.
I'll paddle around the local rez here during the winter if I get the itch but only if the sun is out and the wind isn't blowing.
Got to watch out for the gators though. Some of them are bigger than my kayak, and when you're right down there with them around the surface it gets a little creepy.
