Sorry, I've never ridden a 650c wheeled bike, this was my first road bike. All I can say is that I don't have barely any issues with toe overlap, and it seems to handle just fine. I would say go for it. Having 700c wheels helps alot on group rides if you flat or whatever. Also the selection of wheels is much better.
