The differences between them come down to nothing much more complicated than whether you like the method they use to shift gears ( double tap, thum shifts, etc) and whether you like the style and feel of the shifters.
That is really about it.
+1. Yup.
Right now, my favorite is Campy (got to test a bike with 11sp Chorus for a week). I can't really complain about Shimano or SRAM, but I like how each lever has one specific function on Campy shifters. The bigger-cog levers can be pulled to the handlebars like SRAM's do, and the higher pivots for the brake levers help give better leverage than Shimano's. I even appreciate why they use different brake calipers front and rear. The only thing I kinda don't like is that the thumb shifter doesn't let me put my thumb wherever I want.
In fact, I like Campy enough that I'm not sure what to do with the mixed Shimano group that I bought from a local shop's liquidation sale. Maybe I should use it as an excuse to build up another bike.
