Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

I wonder if the article the OP referrs to was discussing a "29-er" MTB which comes OEM with 700c rims, not converting a 26" bike to 700c.
